Nancy BRACKER

Obituary Condolences

BRACKER, Nancy

Nancy "Nan" Bracker, long-time Unitarian Universalist and Wildflower Church member, died early Saturday morning, October 19 at St. David's South Austin Medical Center. She was 78. Nan was born August 7, 1935 in New York City - daughter of Nadine Katzenstein Bracker and Joseph Henry Bracker. Nan was active in many political, ecological and arts associations, including the Travis County Democratic Women's Club, the Austin Area Sierra Club, the Audubon Society and the International Folkdancers of Austin. Friends and family will miss her unique perspective on the world, her sincerity and most of all, her friendliness. Devoted to helping others and being cheerful, patient and brave, she is remembered as a lover of wildflowers, animals and kind people - she was a fine human being. A special thanks goes out to Nan's devoted friends, the many healthcare providers who assisted during her years in Austin, the caring staff at Riverside Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, and her care managers from Accountable Aging Care Management.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 3 at 1:30 PM at the Wildflower Unitarian Universalist Church, which meets on the Faith Presbyterian Church campus, 1314 E. Oltorf Street. The service will be held in the main sanctuary building. She is survived by a brother, Jonathan, in San Francisco.
