Patricia "Pat" Adkins Patricia "Pat" Adkins, age 67, of Georgetown, Texas died Tuesday, December 13, 2005 in Austin, Texas. Pat was born on January 11, 1938 in Taylor, Texas to Howard Condron and Helena (Bolf) Condron. She married Jack Milburn Adkins on October 20, 1956, in Elgin, Texas. Pat and Jack both grew up in Elgin. Pat received her degree from Texas Tech University and was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma. She worked for 30 years in the Georgetown I.S.D., having taught at Annie Purl, Carver, and Pickett Elementary Schools, before retiring in 2002. She was an active member of St. John's United Methodist Church in Georgetown, and had served on the Board of Directors of Centex Pharmacies, Inc. Pat loved to travel, and to see children succeed. She was most happy when giving to and doing for others. After all of her tough races, she finally won the most important one! Survivors include her husband of over 49 years, Jack M. Adkins of Georgetown, Uncle Ray Jones of Austin, Aunt Louise Jones and husband Sonny of Austin, cousin's: Sammy Jones and wife Linda of Austin, Betty Jean Ligon and husband Manning of Houston, Jo Ann Roach and husband Elliot of Houston, Karen Jones of Boston, Mass., Helen Ruth of Asheville, N.C., Aunt Helen Condron of Asheville, N.C., sister-in-law, Florence Jorgenson and husband Tony of Nacogdoches, nephew, Eric Jorgenson and wife Inge of Nacogdoches. She was preceded in death by her parents, and an infant daughter Amy Jane Adkins. The Family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: St. John's United Methodist Church, "Children's Ministry Dept.", 301 E. University Ave, Georgetown, Texas 78626, (or) the American Diabetes Foundation, (or) the American Cancer Society. Visitation will be Friday, 6:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m., at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel in Georgetown. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 17, 2005 at St. John's United Methodist Church in Georgetown with Dr. Kent D. Marrs, Pastor, and Dr. Gary G. Kindley of Colleyville, Texas, Officiating. Pallbearers will be Jim Fagg, Butch McCain, James Blackwell, Don Davis, Buddy Glass, and Mike Dean. Honorary Pallbearers are the "Seekers" Sunday School Class. Arrangements by The Gabriels Funeral Chapel, Georgetown, Texas (512) 869-8888.
