BERGE, Peter

Mr. Peter Berge age 56, of Austin, Texas, Born June 12th, 1956, passed away October 10, 2013, at the Texas Neurorehab Center in Austin, Texas. Mr. Berge's substantial injuries were sustained while bicycling and was struck by a vehicle along FM 969, near Imperial Drive in Eastern Travis County. Mr. Berge was born on October 9, 1956 in Anaheim, California. Both Mother and dads predeceased him, son of the late Patricia Kay Swearingen/Berge who passed in 1985 and Robert B. Swearingen, who passed in 1990. Peter attended High School at Queen of Apostles High School, in Madison, Wisconsin. Mr. Berge was a long time Muddlogger in the State of Texas and lived in both Austin and Kingsland, Texas for many years. Peter loved and lived for the sport of bicycling and downhill skiing. A natural athlete, Peter loved not only to participate in both activities but lived to help better technologies used in both hobbies, fully. Therefore, Peter logically lived in Austin and the Texas Hill Country area, for bicycling. Peter was also very devoted to his various dogs over the years.

Mr. Berge was predeceased by his brother, Quentin Berge in 2004 and Sister Wilhelmina Berge, in 1988 and Niece Patricia Kay Berge, in 2010. He leaves behind his family, brother Timothy Berge, Denver, CO, Bill Berge, Fernandina Beach, FL, sister Teresa Berge, Rockford, IL and brother Siegfried Berge, Bellingham, WA. There will be no visitation. A celebration of Mr. Berge's life will be held on October 28th and Mr. Berge will be laid to rest on Amelia Island, FL. If so desired, memorial donations may be made in his name to the Austin Cycling Association, P.O. Box 5993 Austin, TX 78763. We will forever miss and always love Peter very much. Our one consoling thought is that he passed, doing what he was passionate about and that is cycling and in the greater Austin, Texas area he loved dearly.
