Raymond Bryant Obituary



Raymond M. Bryant Raymond M. Bryant passed away unexpectedly January 29, 2007 in his home in Austin, Texas at the age of 57. Ray leaves behind his wife and best friend Rebecca Bryant, his family including his son Matthew and wife Christy; his daughter Jenny, and stepchildren Jacqui and Clay Stewart; sister Ellen Welke and husband Chuck Welke; and the mother of his children Patricia McElveen; and many other family members and friends. Ray had a PhD in Math from the University of Maryland. He taught at the University of Wisconsin before joining IBM. After IBM Ray enjoyed being with TimesN and SGI before joining AMD. Ray never met a computer problem he didn't want to try to solve. In his free time he enjoyed road biking, snow skiing and racquetball. He especially enjoyed escaping to Colorado for these activities. Ray enjoyed being with his friends in the Austin Ski Club, and those who would join him for a bike ride. Ray had so many friends he would share his love of life with. Ray also could talk and talk about cats. In lieu of flowers, the Bryant family asks that donations be made to the Austin Humane Society, where some of our best friends have come from. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2007 at Bethany United Methodist Church located at 10010 Anderson Mill Road, Austin, Texas 78750
