BEGEMAN, Robert Arnold|
Bob Begeman of Austin passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at the age of 67. He is preceded in death by his parents Frances and Herman Begeman and is survived by his cousin Bill Siptak of Austin.
Bob graduated from Austin High School in Austin, Texas. Out of high school, he loved fast cars, music, boats, and girls. His mechanical and technical prowess allowed him to impeccably maintain his toys. He would tweak or rebuild the engines in his muscle cars and boats for optimum performance. His technical skills transferred to his work of diagnosing and maintaining all types of electronic and musical equipment, especially pianos and organs with which he particularly excelled.
Growing up in Tarrytown next to Lake Austin, Bob would often grab up a bunch of friends and cruise the lake in the family's 27 ft. Chris Craft, the FRANCES B. He became affectionately known by many of his close friends as Cruiser Bob. He would always meet you with a smile and a handshake and entertain you with great stories.
Bob was a longtime member of the Austin Club and spent much quality time there. He was also an active official at both the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and the Austin Aqua Festival. Those were some of his favorite times of the year.
Bob Begeman loved life and lived life and had many friends who loved him. We miss you already, Bob. Peace be with you.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, October 28th at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. A Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 29th at Austin Memorial Park.
