Seferina E.Romo Obituary
Seferina E. Romo Seferina Eureste Romo, age 88, was called home by our Lord on October 6, 2012 at her home in Austin, Texas surrounded by loving family members. Because of her kind heart and soul, she was "Mami" to not just her sons and daughters but also to an extended family of numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Loving memories will keep her in our lives forever; she made each one of us feel special. She left us "rich" in love. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in East Austin where she served with pride and humility with sociedades such as Las Guadalupanas (where she was "Presidenta" one year), Sagrado Corazon de Jesus, La Vela Perpetua, and Las Carmelitas. Seferina is preceded in death by her husband, Cruz M, Romo; daughter Flora Eureste Romo and sons Johnny E. Romo, Silvester E. Romo, and Enrique E. Romo. Survivors include her daughters Guadalupe R. Rivera, Gloria R. Esparza, and Lily E. Romo; and sons Cruz E. Romo, Jr., Ezekiel E. Romo, and Sam E. Romo . She is also survived by special granddaughter Angela Romo, sister Frutosa Jimenez, and 23 grandchildren, and numerous great and great-great grandchildren who gave her much joy. Rosary will be recited at Serenity Chapel located at 6204 S. 1 St. at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 9, 2012. Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at noon with burial to follow at Assumption Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Guadalupe reception hall. Pallbearers will be: Oscar Romo, Steve Morris, Silvester Romo, Jr., Richard Anthony Rivera, Johnny Jay Romo, Benjamin Romo and Jesse Hernandez. The family wishes to extend its gratitude to the staff of Encompass Home Health Care and Century Hospice, and the doctors Garcia and Parker and nurses Nancy, Brenda, Christi and Ms. Stella Williams who provided home medical care with professionalism and compassion. Special thanks to Meals on Wheels for their years of services.
