Stanley Rudeseal Obituary

Stanley Keith Rudeseal Stanley Keith Rudeseal passed away peacefully on Monday, May 16 following a brief illness. He was born in Ackerly, Texas to Jessie Leona and John L. Rudeseal Sr. Following graduation from Ackerly High School, Keith joined the U.S. Army and served from 1959 - 1963, stationed primarily in Alaska. Returning to civilian life, Keith attended Sam Houston State for undergraduate study and subsequently earned a master's in American history from Texas A&M-his beloved alma mater. Keith dedicated his career to the needs and welfare of children and youth-beginning with service at the Texas Youth Commission which included time spent at Travis Home, a halfway house fore children and youth. This was followed by many years of service to the Texas Juvenile Probation Commission. Keith was passionately committed to the work and mission of TICY-the Texas Institute for Children and Youth-and continued his involvement with this organization until the time of his death. A highly intelligent man, Keith loved books, music, and everything related to the Aggies. He was widely acclaimed as a master of Trivial Pursuit. Keith was much loved and greatly appreciated by diverse circles of friends, and will be deeply missed. Keith was preceded in death by his parents as well as a brother, Pat Rudeseal. He is survived by brother, John Rudeseal and wife Wilma of Carrollton, Texas; sister, Leona Myles of Maryland; five nephews, numerous great-nieces and nephews, as well as many devoted friends. A special celebration of life will be shared by friends and family at Saxon's Pub, 1320 South Lamar, Austin, Texas, on Friday, June 17, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Capital Area Food Bank, or the Ron Powell Scholarship Fund at the Texas Institute for Children and Youth.

What an incredible man was Keith - brilliant, oh-so-funny, fun and caring. Oh how I wish for one more bear-hug and kiss from my sweet friend. May he rest in peace. CHEERS Keith!
