Theodore Hahn Obituary

Theodore F. Hahn Theodore F. Hahn, born March 31, 1932, departed this earth on July 13, 2008, in Round Rock, Texas. The youngest of eight children, Fred was born to Theodore A. Hahn and Johanna Glockzin in Otto, Texas. He grew up in the Waco-Marlin area before moving to Gonzales in his early teens. He joined the U.S. Air Force only weeks after turning 18. He served in a MASH unit during the Korean Conflict and later served with honor in the Vietnam War. After 22 years in the military, he retired and went to work the next day for Camp Mabry, where he worked for over 20 years. Fred was predeceased by his parents, three brothers, and two sisters. He married Lavelle Henrichsen in 1953 and they were devoted to each other for 34 years until her death in 1987. Fred leaves to mourn his beloved wife, Jan; two sons, Kevin Hahn and wife Sandie of Lewisville, and Brian Hahn and wife Rendi of Abilene; three step-children, Jennifer Padgett and husband Brett of Huntsville, Alabama, Julie Donton and husband Peter of Austin, and Joel Fikes and wife Jennifer of Austin; and five grandchildren, Katie and Rebekah Hahn, Hope Padgett, Samantha and Gus Fikes. He is also survived by his brother Herbert Hahn and wife Nell, his sister-in-law Bobbie Hahn, all of Gonzales, and two brothers-in-law, Lloyd Reid and Robert Fikes of San Antonio. He also leaves a host of extended family and friends, and special friends Alton and Janis Blackburn. Fred was a faithful Christian, a member of the Leander Church of Christ. He was a good soldier, modest and quiet about his loyal service to his country. He was a man of integrity, strong, dependable, and generous. He was a loving father and grandfather, and the best husband God created. He loved to fish, travel, laugh, and cook for friends and family. His barbecued brisket and special sauce were priceless. He will be greatly missed. Services will be held at Beck Funeral Home, 1700 E. FM 1431, Cedar Park, Texas, at 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, July 15, 2008, with burial at Austin Memorial Park in Austin. Memorials may be made to Central Texas Children's Home; or a charity of your choice. The family would like to extend special thanks to Hospice Austin, Odyssey Austin, his care-givers at Hearthstone Health Center, the gentle hands of Cassidy from Odyssey, and his loving church family.
