Walter Eugene Anderson Walter Eugene Anderson, Age 72, of Georgetown, Texas, and formerly of San Antonio and Houston, died Friday, November 5, 2004. He was born on November 5, 1932, in Arcola, Louisiana, to Walter Sumner Anderson and Annie Mae (Payne) Anderson. He married Barbara Jean Simmons on June 5, 1955, in San Antonio, Texas. Walter received his B.S. from Texas A&M., and a Master s in Engineering Administration from S.M.U. in Dallas. He worked in Project Management in the Oil Industry, primarily offshore projects worldwide, which he loved. Over his long career, he worked for Marathon Oil, Del Hi Taylor, Howe Baker, Ortloff Engineering, and Dow Chemical, amongst others primarily in Texas and England. He retired in about 1993. In 1996 he and Barbara moved to Sun City Georgetown and were enjoying retirement. He was a Protestant and had served on the board for the American Church in London. He was a member of Texas A&M Foundation Club, A.S.M.E., A.S.C.E., and the Sun City C.O.P.S., Walter loved to travel the world and continued his explorations up until the time of his death, traveling with his wife Barbara. He enjoyed the out of doors and had many memories of fishing, shooting, camping and golfing with friends and family. More than anything else, he loved and treasured the time he spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was affectionately known as "Duckman" to many because of the sounds he could make in entertaining and comforting children. He leaves to celebrate his life - wife, Barbara Jean Anderson of Georgetown; mother, Annie Mae Anderson of San Antonio, Texas; son, Glenn Anderson and wife Masayo and their children, David and Melisse, all of San Antonio; son, Kenneth Anderson and his children, Robert, Philip, and Matthew Anderson, all of England; daughter, Diana Anderson Davis and her children, Douglas and Kyle Davis of Kennewick, Wash.; and many other extended but loved family members. Preceding him in death was his father, Walter Sumner Anderson. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Texas A&M for scholarships, (or) to a charity of your choice.
