William Beard Obituary

William H. Beard William H. Beard, 66, passed away on July 31, 2008, at his home in Pflugerville, Texas. He was born July 24, 1942. Bill was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Bill is survived by his wife of 33 years, Barbara; his two sons, Heath Clark and wife Jennifer of Dale, Tex., and Sean Beard of Austin, Texas; sister, Jeanne M. Wollyung, wife of Ed Wollyung, Clifton Park, NY; brother, John Beard of Jonestown, PA; and sister, Sue Lane, wife of Fred Lane, Cleona, PA; mother and father-in-law, Jean and Robert Springborn of Lebanon, PA; six grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, William H. and Helen M. Beard. Born in Lebanon, PA, he and his family moved to Texas in 1981. He graduated from Lebanon High School in 1960. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1960. He was a member of the Hershey Chocolatiers Drum & Bugle Corps, Hersey, PA. He was a life long member of the Masonic Lodge and served as the Worshipful Master of Mt. Lebanon Lodge #226 F&AM of Lebanon, PA, in 1976. He also belonged to the VFW Post 8787 in Austin, Tex., and the American Legion of Austin. Bill's love of the guitar and playing music was well known in the 1960's and early 1970's, playing with "The Centuries" with whom he recorded several songs and also playing with the band "Apocalypse". Bill was employed by Floor King Carpet One and has been a successful flooring sales professional for over 40 years. His favorite pastime was playing poker with his friends and going to casinos. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to: The Masonic Temple Of Lebanon, One Mason Drive, Elizabethtown, PA 17022, In memory of William H. Beard. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, August 9th at 6:00 p.m., at his home in Pflugerville.

We also have fond memories of bill & barb in the early 80's they were always the first to help at a get together and the last to leave just great friends as you needed ,especially when you were out of sort yourself. we can't thank you enough for you and bill's friendship.our hearts go out to you and your family Sincerely joe/diane dobie.
