Obituary Condolences

William R Hoskins William R Hoskins passed away peacefully April 30, 2013 at the age of 88 in Austin, Texas. At the time of his death he was surrounded by his loving family and, no doubt, in the thoughts and prayers of his many friends across the country and around the world. Bill, as he was known to all, traveled in many circles. A founder of the Academy of International Business (AIB) and life-long professor, he taught at universities in Korea, Australia, Germany (in German), England, and France as well as Indiana University, Bowling Green State University, and the American Graduate School of International Management (Thunderbird). His passion and calling was being a teacher and mentor to his students. He served in the US Army (2nd Lieutenant, retired), loved camping and fishing throughout North America from Alaska to Maine, and founded and managed Thunderbird Homes, his retirement project. Not bad for a kid from Okanogan, Washington. He had the fullest possible life and made lasting friends wherever he went, across cultures, nationalities, age, and social status. He met and married Ruth Beisheim in Germany in 1948, while working as a civilian member of US occupation forces and together they raised three children and traveled the world. Ruth preceded him in death in 2000. He is survived by their children Diana Hoskins, Michael Hoskins (Ami Dave), and Ralph Hoskins (Jill Hoskins), as well as his adored wife Phyllis Hasson, and grandchildren Caroline Hoskins and Monica Hoskins. At the request of his family, funeral services will be private. A celebration of his life is planned for fall 2013 in Austin, Texas, and all are welcome to attend.
