WHITEAKER, Robert C.

Cedar Park, Texas resident Robert Charles Whiteaker, 89, died March 9, 2014.

Mr. Whiteaker was born on October 5, 1924 in San Antonio, Texas to Radelle Cocreham Whiteaker and Jesse Elbert Whiteaker.

Prior to Robert's 29 year career with Southwestern Bell as a lineman, he graduated from Austin High School in Austin, Texas, served in the US Navy during World War II as a Radio operator on the USS Corregidor and attended Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his brother James Elbert Whiteaker of San Antonio, Texas and is survived by his sister Mary Whiteaker Perry of Cedar Park, Texas, niece Karen Jenkins of San Antonio, Texas and nephews Jim Whiteaker of San Antonio, Texas, Gainor Lee Perry of Lago Vista, Texas and Charles Miller Perry of Cedar Park, Texas.

The family would like to thank Robert's caregivers at Sagebrook Nursing Home for the wonderful care he received and for keeping him comfortable in his final days. A memorial gathering will be held at Bar-K-Park Pool Pavilion in Lago Vista, Texas on Saturday, March 22nd at 2:00 pm.

Robert was a supporter of Cal Farley's and he would love for donations to be made to his favorite organization in lieu of flowers.
