Zelphia Ann BLOODWORTH Obituary

Zelphia Ann Bloodworth lost her battle with cancer on April 10, 2014. She was born in Idabell, Oklahoma on February 4, 1950 to Leo May and Inge May.

The family moved to Dallas where she grew up and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School. She retired from the Texas Water Development Board in 2003. While working at the Board, she met and married F.G. "Butch" Bloodworth on February 10, 1989. Zelphia was a loving and caring person who loved her kitties.

She was preceded in death by her father Leo May and her step-father Dennis Wood.

Zelphia is survived by her loving husband Butch Bloodworth; her mother Inge Wood; sister Inge Velasquez and husband Vincent; step-son Shane Bloodworth and wife Stacy; step-grandson Keller Bloodworth; niece Suzanne Conway and husband Allen; niece Karissa Wimberley and husband Will; great-niece Courtney Conway; great-nephew Cameron Conway; great-nephew Cooper Wimberley and brother-in-law Eddie Bloodworth.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Richard Debhnke and his staff at ARC, the staff at Texas Oncology South, especially Dr. Catherine Wu and Dr. James Uyeki. The family would also like to extend special thanks to the staff at New Century Hospice, especially Valerie Ramos for the care and devotion they had for Zelphia during her illness.

Formal Visitation 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday at Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel 6204 South First Street. Funeral Service 11:00 a.m., Monday at Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel. This will conclude services for Mrs. Bloodworth.
