Martha Hill LEWIS Obituary
LEWIS, Martha Hill

The life book of Martha Hill Lewis closed peacefully on April 19, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family. Martha was born on July 28, 1938 in Glidden, Texas to the late Rufus and Jessie Wilson. After completion of high school, Martha moved to Austin, Texas. Martha accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized upon moving to Austin. She united with Corinth Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of her brother, Rev. Levester Wilson, Sr. and later under the pastoral leadership of Pastor Gary Renfro.

Martha worked at Travis State School for 18 years, retiring in 1991.

Martha loved to cook. Coming to her house always meant good laughs shared over a delicious meal.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her children: Marcus Henson, Marvin Hill (Norma), Daniel Ray Hill (Jeannette), and Yvonne Adams (Kevin); step-children: Michael Lewis, Regina Lewis, and Sharon Lewis; three brothers: James Wilson (Carolyn), John Wilson (Gerri), and Frank Wilson (Mae Lois); one sister, Mittie Bolden; a wonderful set of in-laws in East Texas; her special family: The Ostranders; 10 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and a host of friends.
