Donnie McReynolds SPRADLEY Obituary
SPRADLEY, Donnie McReynolds

Donnie McReynolds Spradley, 66, went to be with the Lord Jesus on May 10, 2014, in Dallas, Texas. Donnie was born February 26, 1948, in Saratoga Springs, New York, to May Ward Donaldson McReynolds and Rodney E. McReynolds.

Donnie received a BA in accounting from TCU in January 1968, and a MA in Conflict Resolution from St. Edwards in August 2000. Donnie was an accomplished professional, working as a CPA the last 25 years for Hoelscher CPA in Austin and finishing her career with Atchley and Associates. Remarkably, Donnie graduated from college, married her college sweetheart, and went to work in public accounting for Arthur Young and Co in Fort Worth, Texas, all when she was 19. She was the first woman accountant for AY's Fort Worth office.

Donnie's life focused on her walk with Jesus, her beloved husband of 46 years, her children and her grandchildren. She was involved in the New Life in Christ Prison ministry and volunteered her time as a mediator for the Dispute Resolution Center in Austin. She and her husband taught at the Union Bible Institute in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa.

Donnie was predeceased by her father, mother and her brother, Scott. She is survived by her husband, Wes, and her children, Leslie, Jonathan, and Daniel, their spouses, Monte, Maxine, and Laura, and eight grandchildren, Layton, Madison, Landon, Claire, Andrew, Nathan, Joanna, and Kate.

Special thanks to the staff of the Dallas Zoo and Dallas EMS, who tried desperately to save Donnie's life.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, May 16, 2014, at Harrell Funeral Home, 4435 Frontier Trail, Austin, Texas.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 17, 2014, at First Evangelical Free Church, 4220 Monterrey Oaks Boulevard, Austin, Texas.
