Heather WHEELER Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jun. 16 to Jun. 17, 2014.
WHEELER, Heather Monique

Heather Monique Wheeler, 36, of Austin TX passed away in her home June 12, 2014. Heather was born in Pine Bluff, AR on November 18, 1977, and she spent her childhood living in Little Rock with her father, George Wheeler, and in Baytown, Texas with her mother, Connie Reynolds Napolitano. She shared her childhood with her older brother, Josh Wheeler of Houston, and her younger sister, Bristol Samples of Austin. Heather often fondly told friends how she grew up on the back of her dad's Harley, and her lifelong love of tubing rivers and spending time outdoors started with her childhood among the bluffs and woods of Arkansas. She spent most of her childhood in Baytown Texas where she was a Brigadier, successful student and popular friend at Robert E Lee High School. Heather's house was the gathering place for all her teenage friends, and her mother Connie welcomed them all home. After graduating from Lee in 1996, Heather lived in Houston then went on to pursue and earn an Interior Design degree at the Art Institute of Las Vegas before her love of live music and outdoor beauty caused her and her daughter, Cara Roberds, to settle in Austin, Texas where her mom and sister soon followed. The love of Heather's life was her daughter, Cara, who inherited her mom's fiery spirit and beautiful smile.

I didn't know Heather well. But i did spend sometime to know who she was. I loved her smiles. She was there when my mom past two years ago. She fully hugged me, until i was healed. She protected me with her thoughts and Prayers. She and Rob and myself on morning we went to h. e.b. we had pickles and avacado's together. We couldn't sleep. But it was very sweet. We all had a beautiful conversation together. She also gives awesome hugs. She will always be in my heart forever. I'm very sorry for what happened to her. She was the most beautiful woman i have ever encountered. I shall talk to her in my dreams. Forever and ever. I love you Heather more than anything in the whole eternity. And guide us all to wherever you are. And may God richly bless you forevermore Amen. I only knew Heather for a short time when she lived in Houston. We worked together for a couple of year. When she was pregnant with Cara I remember telling her how her tattoo was gonna get huge.. haha.

I meant so many time to go see her in Austin.. or see her when she was in Houston. I just didn't know her time with us would be so short. My heart breaks for you all. Sending you love and peace !!

I will forever love her. She was my rock that held me in place on far too many occasions. My heart and tears go to her family, some I have met, others I have not, but my prayers are to all. Oh the places we went Heather and the fun we had! I hope you have found your Galleywinter; and I'm pretty sure its filled with sparkle, glitter, and tiaras. I love you now, and forever my friend.

I miss you, Heather. I know we didn't see each other the past few years, but you never left my heart. We just let life's struggles get in the way. I was looking very forward to our getting together and catching up, and now we will not have the chance… at least not in this life.

I will never forget the day we met after our friendship developed online. It was the day before Cara's birthday, and I drove to Vegas where we met up for an RK show – what a blast we had. Things would never be the same. You and Cara moved to Austin, and I followed after you guys put me and Sadie up for a month so I could find a job. Then we managed to hit every show we could find over the coming years. You fashioned the most beautiful homemade wedding cake for Joey and I, and helped tremendously with our Do-It-Yourself wedding. Pretty soon, you were off on your trans-Atlantic adventure to Scotland, and we kept Cara safe and sound for you. What an honor it was that you trusted us with your beloved daughter – I know what that means, and I thank you for it.

I will never forget how intoxicating and vibrant and infectious and simply beautiful you were. You loved to drive because, God-forbid, anyone else ever be in charge, and you threw the most amazing themed parties. You could make anything fun, even buying a $5 scarf at Walgreens. And you loved to sing and dance and be goofy no matter the circumstance – and you loved to capture it all on film, even when it meant asking the cops if you could pose on the hood of their squad car. You were open and self-aware and unapologetic. You were full of life, full of smiles, and always incredibly fun.

I am so, so sorry that you had to go so soon. I am so sorry for Cara. I am so sorry for your parents, and your sisters, and your brother, and your nieces and nephews and the rest of your family and your friends, and everyone who never had the honor of knowing you. I have missed you terribly over the past few years, and I will miss you all the more in the future. RIP, my dear old friend. There are no words big enough for your passing.

Sending love and prayers to Heather and all of those feeling a great sense of loss in her death.

My condolences to everyone in Heather's family. She will be deeply missed and was always such a joy to be around. We had the same kind of dry sense of humor and she was one of the crazy ones that did the 5:30 a.m. bootcamp with us and was ALWAYS there first, ready to go. She will leave a huge hole in your family, but we know she's smiling and I am grateful for the opportunity to be her friend. Our Tori Amos trip the day of her sister's wedding to find flowers (after some issues) will never be forgotten :-) Love you girl
