LEAGUE, Thomasina Antoinette (Pileggi)

Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial for Thomasina Antoinette (Pileggi) League will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 54311 Small Drive, Austin, Texas. Burial will be at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, Texas. Mrs. League passed away July 25, 2014, at Hospice Austin's Christopher House, Austin, Texas, after a long illness.



Thomasina (Tommie) Antoinette (Pileggi) League was born June 2, 1929, in Ocean City, New Jersey, to Antonio and Caterina Pileggi. She married Edward J. League, of Atlantic City, New Jersey, on October 4, 1952, in Ocean City, New Jersey, at St. Augustine Catholic Church. He preceded her in death December 12, 1995. They were married for 43 happy years.



She is survived by her children and their spouses: Rusty (Marilyn) League, San Antonio, TX; Kathy (Enayat) Afnani, San Antonio, TX; Theresa League-Duffer, Austin, TX; Margaret (James) Dugan, Austin, TX; Mary League, Austin, TX; nine grand children and their spouses; two sisters: Esther Ciampa, Lansdale, PA; Angela Pileggi, Somers Point, NJ; three brothers-in-law and their spouses; and dozens of nieces and nephews.



In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael Patrick, in 1955; a son-in-law, Peter Jentzen, in 2012; three brothers, Antonio, Thomas, and Francis; two sisters, Mary Camburn and Teresa Collo; six sisters-in-law, and seven brothers-in-law.



The family would like to thank the staff at Hospice Austin's Christopher House for their kindness and support during their mother's illness. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice Austin's Christopher House, 2820 E. Martin Luther King Dr., Austin, TX, 78702. Donations may also be made in honor of Tommie's son-in-law Peter Jentzen to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, 120 Wall Street, 29th Floor, New York, NY, 10005.
