Daniel Jeff Woodard, 58, of Austin, Texas passed away on July 26, 2014 at Christopher House of Austin. He was born on March 2, 1956 in San Antonio, Texas, but grew up in Austin.. He attended both Reagan and LBJ High Schools and also Austin Community College.
He worked for Austin I.S.D. for twenty-two years as an electronics technician. He was also a well-known guitarist, having played with a number of Austin area bands in his younger years.
Dan loved to play golf, watch birds and all things relating to the Texas Longhorns, Texas Rangers and San Antonio Spurs. His special love was for his family.
He is preceded in death by grandparents, Jeff and Helen Halsell and M.G. and Nell Woodard, father, Bill Woodard, brother, Ray Woodard, nephew, Timothy Barron and niece, Sydney Brown.
He is survived by his mother, Dolores Woodard of Austin; sister, Karen Brown of Hutto; sister, Sandra Barron of Bedford, nephews, Fred Brown and wife Shannon, Travis Woodard and wife Diana, Scott Brown and wife Amanda, Eric Woodard and wife Lauren, Dustin Woodard and wife Leah, Joshua Barron, and Austin Barron and wife Tiffany; niece, Meagan Antipolo and husband Steve; great-nephew, Matthew Brown; and great-nieces, Hannah Brown, Sierra Brown, Natalie Brown, Layla Woodard, Kaylee Brown, Katherine Antipolo, Amelia Woodard and Olivia Barron.
A memorial service celebrating Dan's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville.
