1923 - 2014 Obituary Condolences
HUTTO, Ward BertonBert Hutto, age 90, of Austin, passed away on August 18, 2014, following a short illness. He was born September 17, 1923 to Roberta and Will T. Hutto in Bertram, Texas. Bert was a 1941 graduate of Bertram High School. His studies at the University of Texas were interrupted by World War II, where he served as a pilot in the Army Air Force in Europe. He graduated from the University of Texas in 1947. He held various accounting and finance positions for companies in Austin, San Antonio, and El Paso until his retirement in 1988 when he and his wife, Bertha Nell, moved to Llano. Bertha Nell predeceased him in 2013. Bert is survived by his daughter Gay Greiter of Minneapolis and his daughter Jenny Baker and husband Charles of Austin. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Elizabeth Greiter, Christopher Greiter, Christina (James) Watkins and Christopher (Dayna) Baker, and five great-grandchildren, Devlin, Brandon, Aidan and Clara Watkins and Moyra Baker. Bert also leaves stepsons Danny Brooks of Corpus Christi, Texas and Jerry (Jill) Brooks of Bellaire, Texas, daughter-in-law, DeeDee Brooks, step-grandchildren Carrie Wilkins, Cory Brooks, Kendall Brooks, Austin Brooks and Cameron Brooks, and great-grandchildren Luke, Brady and Bennett Wilkin and Sydney Brooks. A memorial service will be held on August 23, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden Chapel of the Hills Funeral Home.
