DIAMOND, Joy Elaine Joy Elaine Diamond, age 62, of Atlanta, GA and Austin, TX died peacefully in her sleep on January 25, 2018. Joy was born in Washington, D.C. on June 26,1955.She grew up in Atlanta where she graduated from Briarcliff High School. She won the Math Award at Emory at Oxford in 1975 then completed her BS in Mathematics at Emory University in 1977.She then moved to Austin, TX where she earned a Masters of Mathematics from the University of Texas, and developed a passion for International Folk Dancing that continued throughout her life. She was also an award-winning Irish dancer. Joy spent a 30 year career working at IBM in Austin. Joy loved Sci-Fi, old movies, Girl Scouting, book collecting, and traveling the world. She is survived by her parents, Sarah and Max Diamond, Atlanta, sisters and brothers-in-law, Sandra Diamond and David Tissue, New South Wales, Australia and Carole and Jerry Hossom, Atlanta; nieces, Avalon and Teo Tissue, Katie and Kylie Hossom, and nephews Matthew and Alex Hossom. Special thanks to her caregivers, Angie Harris, Bobbie Traore, Bernadette and Jamilla Higgins, and LaTisha Hines. Sign on-line guestbook: www.edressler.com. A memorial service will take place 2:00 pm Sunday, January 28 at Dressler's Jewish Funeral Care, 3734 Chamblee Dunwoody Road. Just found out. Tried to find you last year but heard you had moved home. They did not know why. SO sad you are not around after so many years at IBM together. I told the kids and they were deeply saddened. You made so many differences in people with your quirky but loving ways at times. Always enjoyed the hugs !!!!! Love and more hugs,
