I've been dreaming of Delby for several months. He was my Mentor when I was a young man growing up. I worked hand and hand with Delby when he started his business. I owe him so much and I will never forget such a wonderful human being. God bless you Delby.

I just wnated to take a moment and say thank you to Delby for all he has done for Shay and I. Even though I had only known him for 6 years, I always knew he was someone I could count on and a good friend. What made the biggeest impression on me was his kindness. I have never met someone who from the moment he met you he wanted to do anything he could to help you. I will never forget that. Delby will be greatly missed and he will always hold a special place in my heart. May God be with him and his family through this difficult time.

You have been so much more than a father-in-law to me. You have been a second dad, and the best friend anyone could ever ask for. You immediately made me feel a part of the family and were always there if I wanted to talk or just hang out and drink the best sweet tea in Texas. Words cannot describe how much you have impacted my life and the lives of many others. I have the greatest respect for you and feel blessed to be a part of your family. I see so much of you in Delton. I love and miss you dearly, and I will forever hold the memories of the times we talked for hours and when Delton and I went to Coushatta with you close to my heart.

In my time here on earth I have met a few good people who ask nothing and give everything. Delby is one of the few. We all have lost a good one. You will be missed very much.

DELBY HAS LEFT HIS MARK ON MAYY THINGS AND PEOPLE, I HAVE BECAME THE PERSON THAT I AM TODAY FROM THE THINGS HE HAS TOUGHT ME. "IF YOU WANT THINGS DONE RIGHT YOU BETTER DO IT YOURSELF" --- "WHAT CAN I DO FOR YOU" THINGS HE SAID EVERY DAY, NOW I FIND MYSELF SAYING AND DOING THINGS THE RIGHT WAY FIRST TIME AS IF DELBY WOULD HAVE HEMSELF. I WILL TRY TO MAKE HEM PROUD AS HE WATCHES OVER ALL OF US AT HOME AND WORK. THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING I OWE YOU MORE THAN I CAN EVER REPAY. I HOPE YOU FIND ALL YOUR FRIENDS IN HEAVEN AND HOPE THEY NEED WATER WELLS THERE TOO! GOD BLESS AND PLEASE SAY HELLO TO MY DAD FOR ME. LOVE YOU

Delby,
When I first met you I was so intimidated by you, I was so wanting to impress you because of my friendship with Delton. You shot down that intimidation with that first joke, you always knew how to crack a good one to get a rise out of someone, or get a great laugh. Over the years I have known you to be a second father to me. I always held your opinion in the highest respect. You have always been tough as an Ox (anyone who got to shake your hand would know that in a second) You always brought out the best in us. I love you and will be missed dearly.

Hugh, Delbys dad divined my well, hit at 480' drilled to 530'. He hit a 6' cavern at 400'. The pull down almost knocked the big rig he had just brought down from up north off the skids. Man, Hugh jumped. Some where I have pictures. Delby serviced it for me by replacing my old burned out oil motor Sears pump with a used red jacket that he rebuilt, because being poor I couldn't afford a new one. Man, he did me right. My well is still pumping after twenty-seven years.
You folks, I know, must really miss old Delby. God bless your whole family.

We met Delby whenever we first moved to our place in Dripping Springs in 1993. He drilled our water well and we took an instant liking to him. He was such a joy to visit with through the years and we will miss him dearly. We're honored to call him our friend.
