Barbara Messinger Barbara Messinger, age 67, born September 27, 1941 in National City, California, passed away November 24, 2008 in Kyle, Texas. Survived by husband, John Robert "Bob" Messinger; sons, Michael and his wife Marjorie of Kyle, Texas, Scott Robert and his wife Loretta of Round Rock, Texas, Brett and his wife Janet of Ottawa Kansas; sister, JoAnn Hill of Sarasota, Florida; brother, Fred Foreman of Des Moines, Iowa; step-sister, Janis Mathias of Des Moines, Iowa; uncle, Tom Foreman of California; and ten grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Michael Messinger, Scott Robert Messinger, Brett Messinger, Sgt. Sean Messinger, Capt. Michael Torres and Mark Adams. Honorary pallbearers will be, Robyn Messinger and Jonathan Messinger. While her husband served his country with a career, in the United States Air Force, she also served bearing three sons; one born while her husband was in Vietnam. She bought and sold homes, cars and furniture. She packed and shipped household goods numerous times, sometimes half-way around the world. She obtained passports and flew to many exotic locations with their sons including England, Egypt, Italy, Belgium and Hawaii. She managed all the logistics to free her husband to pursue his service to his country. Her superb service to her God, country, and family is unequalled and she rightfully deserves her exalted place in paradise, free from pain and worry. Visitations will be held at 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 28, 2008 at Harrell Funeral Home, Kyle Texas. Funeral service will be held Saturday, November 29, 2008 at St. Alban's Episcopal Church, Austin, Texas. Graveside service will be at 10:45 a.m., Monday, December 1, 2008 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, Texas. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to your favorite charity in Barbara's name.
