Heriberto Gonzalez Heriberto Gonzalez, 79, of Leander, Texas, passed away peacefully after a long battle with Alzheimer's, on March 14, 2009. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 29, 2009 at Gabriels Funeral Chapel in Georgetown. Graveside services with full military honors will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 30, 2009 at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen. As a 32 year Marine Corps veteran, he fought in Korea and Vietnam, and retired in 1979, with the rank of Captain. He is survived by his wife, Arcelia; and his children, daughter Anna Rouff of Leander, Texas; son Roland Gonzales, and wife Monica of San Diego, California; son Rene Gonzalez, and wife Alyson of Temecula, California; son Ruben Gonzalez, and wife Doreen of Savannah, Georgia; daughter Patricia Edgeworth, and husband Larry of Clio, Michigan; and daughter Sandra Gonzalez of Leander, Texas; and many loving grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was very proud of his family, his military service, and enjoyed the many happy times spent with his grandchildren. His family would like to express our deepest gratitude to the Doctors and Nursing Staff of the Veterans Medical Center in Waco, Texas for the kind considerate care they gave to him during his stay at the hospital. We will never forget your hard work, dedication, and compassion, in your efforts to make his final years, and his struggle with Alzheimer's, as comfortable as possible. We also want to thank the staff at Wind Crest nursing home in Copperas Cove, Texas. Although his stay with you was for a short time only, we are comforted by the loving care you gave him.
