Obituary Condolences

James Richard Parker James Richard "Rich" Parker, 43 of Austin and formerly of Midland, died Wednesday, May 13, 2009, from injuries received in an auto accident in Austin. Rich was born January 20, 1966, to James Clyde and Florence Parker Pollard in Houston, Texas. Rich was raised in Midland and the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. He joined the US Navy and served in the Kuwait Gulf war - Operation Desert Storm in 1991. Rich lived life in an adventures way! He loved jazz music and playing his saxophone. He also loved the Native Indian culture, and exploring their rituals. Rich also taught the English language to Japanese foreign exchange students. He always had a positive, happy and funny outlook on life, no matter what the negative situation was. He was the one to always find the good out of any situation, and in all people. Rich was always willing to help in anyway, the people who needed assistance. He gave no pre judgment to those he met. Rich was currently employed with Coach America, in Austin. He was preceded in death by his father, James Clyde Parker and grandmother, Clara Parker. Survivors include Florence and Bobby Pollard of Midland, Tex.; sister, Emily Follis and husband Brad and their family, Chris Boyd and Carrie Boyd, all of Midland; a brother, John Johnson of Zepher, Tex., and his family, Liz and Nick Johnson of Indianapolis, IN; his extended family, Jill and Grady Dale, Jimmy and Janet Pollard, Lola Pollard, Amanda, Lynn, Tanna, Thomas, Jackie, Micah, Luke and Josh. Private memorial services are pending. Memorials may be made to one's church or charity of one's choice, or to the Aquarian Foundation, 4902 Wind River Road, Austin, TX 78759-4235, one of his many interests.
