Ernestine (Tina) Gloria Edwards McGee Ernestine (Tina) Gloria Edwards McGee passed away May 22, 2009. Tina was born December 4, 1933, to Ernest and Carrie Mae Edwards. She was preceded in death by son, Michael Lee McGee; father, Ernest William Edwards; and mother, Carrie Mae Edwards (Baker); and brother, Billy Louis Edwards. Tina was full of life, and was on the go and never wasted a minute of time, although she did take time to keep up with the news and politics. She was a stay at home mom and volunteered at St. David's Hospital. Tina then started her career with the Comptroller of Public Accounts for the State of Texas for over 18 years and then retired. She continued working for RGIS doing inventory and demonstrated food products for various stores. One of the things that Tina loved to do was gourmet cooking and sharing it with friends and family. Everyone who knew Tina got a taste of her wonderful cooking. She also loved to work and be with people. She had a talent for interior decorating and sharing her colorful ideas with friends and family. Tina was a very kind and giving person and always helped anyone in need. She was known for her generosity and self-sacrifice. The thing she loved most was spending time with her girls and grandchildren. Her life was dedicated to nurturing her family and love ones. She is survived by her daughters, JoAnn McGee White and husband, Trey of Georgetown, Texas; Donna Lee McGee Cardenas and husband Felix of Austin, Texas; sisters, Lahonda Jo Nisbet of Meridian, Texas; Wanda Lou Genter of Burnet, Texas; and Barbara Marie Howard of Galveston, Texas; grandchildren, Ryan Lee White, Brandon Matthew White, Kaylee Ana Cardenas, and Brett Michael Cardenas; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, May 25, 2009, at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2009, with interment following at Cook-Walden Capital Park Funeral Home. The family wishes to thank Dr. Laura Gilbey, her long time physician and the many doctors, nurses and staff of St. David's North Austin Medical Center, and a special thanks to Diamond and Angel.
