Walter Claypool Obituary

Walter Alan Claypool, Jr. Walter Alan Claypool, Jr. was called from this life on February 27, 2010, at the age of 63 years. He was born December 16, 1946, in Austin, Texas, to Walter Alan Claypool, Sr. and Bessie Ruth Hanson Claypool. He served four years in the United States Marine Corps and received the Purple Heart during his service in Vietnam. Walter was a builder of automotive clutches and an avid hunter and fisherman. He especially enjoyed hunting this past year with his nephew. He loved all animals and most especially his dachshund/lab mix, "Little Boy". Walter's most grievous loss was that of his son, James Alan Claypool. James Alan was his best friend and constant hunting and fishing partner. He was also preceded in death by his parents. Walter is survived by a brother, Bill Claypool and wife, Vickie; sisters, Sylvia Swearingen and Myrna Pierce; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family requests memorials may be made to the Bastrop County Animal Shelter, 589 Cool Water Dr., Bastrop, TX 78602, 512-581-4080. The family will receive guests at Bastrop Providence Funeral Home in Bastrop from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 1, 2010. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at Upper Cedar Creek Cemetery, Cedar Creek, Texas.
