Obituary Condolences

Gregory Scott Allen Gregory "Scott" Allen, age 48, of Longview, formerly of Austin, passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2010. Born January 5, 1962, in Belleville, Illinois, he served a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He married Michele Lee Muse on December 23, 1986 and graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a bachelor's degree in kinesiology in 1989. Scott worked as a Licensed Athletic Trainer for over 20 years. He served as Bishop of the Nacogdoches Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Scott is survived by his wife, Michele Allen and son, Nathaniel Scott Allen of Longview; parents, James K. Sr. and Janet Joy Allen of Austin; sister, Mary E. Leach and her husband Bob of Roosevelt, Utah; brothers, James K. Allen Jr. of Austin, David E. Allen and his wife Kambra of Austin; parents- in-law, R. Perry and Linda Muse of Chireno; and siblings-in-law, Craig and Anna Lisa Fowler of Pine, Colorado, Mike and Shelly Knepp of Austin, Raymond and Pam Muse of Chireno, and Cody and Angela Muse of Chireno; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Donations can be made to the East Texas Athletic Trainers Association Scholarship Fund or to the Missionary Fund of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
