Obituary Condolences

Eric Aaron Garrett Eric Aaron Garrett was born on October 27, 1966 in Santa Monica, California the son of Charles and Elizabeth (Shepard) Garrett. At an early age the family moved to Austin, TX where Eric attended schools, graduating from West Lake High School in 1985. He attended the University of Texas for a short while, then attending Texas State University in San Marcos, TX, where he graduated Suma Cum Laude with a degree in Criminal Justice in 1990. While there Eric met Diane Cragg in January 1990 and they were married in October 1996 in Austin, TX. For over 16 years Eric worked for Spansion in Austin TX. Eric loved coaching his daughter's softball teams and enjoyed hang gliding. He was a member of Bannockburn Baptist Church in Austin. Eric is remembered and deeply missed by his wife, Diane; daughters, Kayla and Amy; sister, Rishla Calvert; parents, Charles and Elizabeth Garrett; maternal grandfather, William Shepard; and his nieces and nephews. Eric was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Elizabeth Shepard. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, November 3, 2011 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 4, 2011 in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home with Pastor Jeremy Hall of Bannockburn Baptist Church officiating.
