I very much enjoyed recording with Tim on some of his cassette albums. And recently after Kimberly and I moved out here to be lake snakes it was great to run into him at the Starbucks in Lakeway. No matter what the topic of conversation, he always had some interesting tidbit of knowledge that I wouldn't have known otherwise. Such a fascinating and fun man.

Thirty years ago in Jacksonville, Florida I was singing in a little bar and was talking to, a musician also touring. He gave me his album "What do you say to a Naked Lady ?" I even did one of his songs for years off that album. What a treat to move back home to Texas and seeing Tim again after all that time. I will miss him greatly.

Dear dear Tim, I always enjoyed being there to listen to or jam with you and regret not spending any more time in your presence as I had. Will always remember the Toby Solomon remembrance event and I know you now share the brightest campfires that never end.

I remember sitting on a bank of a creek near Tim's house watching deer walk belong me close enough to touch. Just a moment of time etched in my mind like Tim's songs. Having been involved with the Kerrville Festivals in the early years I remember a lot of magic moments during the festivals of which some of the best were hearing his new songs. Watching the synergy between Awayne and Tim was something to behold. A great talent gone too soon. Marian, no words can express the enormity of your loss. We will always miss him.

So many Texas/Oklahoma singers and songwriters have been taken early by cancer! Allen Damron, W. Michael Hyde, and now Tim Henderson! A very tragic loss to everyone who treasures original music!

I met Tim through Tobi and Camp Moco Verde. Being from San Angelo,I loved his Texas song but teaching at Eastern Kentucky University I appreciated his mountain songs the most. He and I had many a talk about Kentucky and West Virgina and the folks from there.

I was lucky enough to get him to do a house concert for the people of New Braunfels and I treasue his signature on the "artist stole" even though he never sat down for a minute.

I wish Marian and the family peace in this time of sorrow.

Tim and I had just gotten back together after a 25 year hiatus. We were friends in the 70's and 80's. I had plans to get together with him more...should have moved faster. Life it too short. I'll miss you my friend!

I first was introduced to Tim in the mid-70s by Allen Damron and Mike Williams, right after he'd recorded his B.F.Deal album, "Waiting for the Naked Girl to Call." We became fast friends immediately and it was pure pleasure to work with him on recording projects, live performances, and around the campfires at Kerrville. His insights into the songwriting processes greatly influenced my research on the subject and when I needed a quick turn of a phrase for some writing project, I could always count on his eccentric wit to pull me through. Tim, I hope you're up there at that big campfire in the sky pickin' with Damron and Townes and Toby and holding a space on the log for the rest of us. I love you, brother; the hole you've left in our hearts can never be filled.

Mare, Kate, Scott, the sweet grandbabies- I love you all as I loved Timothy. There was only one like him, and he shared so much with so many people. There may be more to life than music, but Tim's was more than enough, that and his friendship, which I have cherished for 35 years. It may take me 35 more years before I again sit at his table, but I know I will be welcome. See you all Sunday.

The singer is gone, but the songs live on. Thanks for the wit and poetry you brought to our lives, Tim, and we'll be singing your songs as long as the Lone Star shines.

My first Kerrville Folk Festival was 1977, the year Tim won the New Folk. I was in awe of all the performers but his songwriting stuck with me many years. Austin has lost another great musician.

Heaven has a new songwriter, and I can picture the angels applauding as Tim sings "Jesus Would Have Loved El Paso." He was one of the finest songwriters I ever knew, but more importantly he was one of the finest people I ever knew. My sympathy to you and the family, Marian.

Marian, Don and I were both so saddened to hear of Tim's passing. He had such integrity and humor, not a common set of attributes. He is in some of our favorite memories, and we will be thinking of you and your family in the coming days and weeks with love.

Tim reached out to those in need ,gave freely in verse and deed, stood with the right wing and the left, nobody could say he wasn't the very best. So thank you Tim and for all those you've inspired, your singing in a place where nobody ever get tired, hired or fired.
