Obituary Condolences

Robert J. Sholtis In memory of Robert J. Sholtis retired master sergeant USAF. Robert passed away on March the 9th. Graveside services will be held at 9:30 on Thursday, March 15, 2012, at Fort Sam Houston Cemetery. Robert served in the US Navy during the Korean War as a petty officer 2nd class for five years. He was stationed on the USS Triumph a mine sweeper AM323 out of Charleston S.C. Naval Mine Base. During his stay in the Navy Robert was also stationed in London England for three of the five years. During his stay in London Robert fell in love with Patricia Hassard and they were married. After his tour in the Navy Robert then enlisted in the US Air Force serving his country around the world on remote and family accompanied tours for the next sixteen years. Preceding his passing was his wife Patricia Sholtis who passed away August 15th 2007. He is survived by his daughter Sharon Stevens and Husband Scott Stevens, Son Jon Sholtis and wife Traci Sholtis, Daughter Tammy Woodmansee and husband Sid Woodmansee. Grandchildren Krystil Hays, Jeremy, Jonathan, Brandon and Megan Sholtis, Amanda, Todd and Tyler Woodmansee. and his best friends Tom and Mavis MacGregor. Robert would like to thank all the men and women that proudly serve in the US military. He has often said how nice it is that people finally recognize what it is that they do for our country. After serving twenty one years in the Military he said no one ever offered to buy him a cup of coffee. Robert was a simple man that believed in family and he showed it each and every day. He loved playing the Texas Lotto and his yearly trips to Las Vegas. In lieu of flowers Robert has requested donations be made to the Salvation Army.
