Jane Shaw Ray

Obituary Condolences

Jane Shaw Ray Jane Shaw Ray, born Patricia Jane Graham, passed away Sunday, April 1st while fossil hunting with family in Central Texas. She loved being outdoors and was having a wonderful time when she passed. She was 59 years old. Janie was born in El Paso, Texas and later moved to Austin with her family, also known as "The Graham Clan." A woman with many interests, Jane worked for US Representative Jake Pickle in Washington DC, was a horse walker at the Kentucky Derby and in her later life, invested in many properties in the Bastrop and Austin areas. Her greatest passion, however, was her ranch. She raised horses, cattle and sheep and loved spending the day in the field on her orange tractor. She was an avid animal rescue volunteer at Animal Trustees and a member of Al Anon. Jane was preceded in death by her beloved husband Don Ray and dear daddy Charles E. Graham, Jr. She is survived by her children: daughter Jennifer Shaw, son David Shaw, her grandchildren Ethan and Stella, her mother Elizabeth "Betsy" A. Graham and the remaining of "The Seven" brothers and sisters: Charles E. Graham, III, Carolyn G. McDermott, Margaret A. Graham-Bimler, Gerald H. Graham, John F. Graham and Stephen A. Graham. She was also survived by and loved by a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
