Gordon Eugene LaVaughn Turn Obituary
Gordon Eugene LaVaughn Turn Gordon Eugene LaVaughn Turn; 82, passed away in Austin, TX on October 30, 2012. After his service in the United States Navy, Gordon graduated from the University of Texas in Austin with a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture Engineering. After graduation Gordon started working at the Texas Highway Department and retired from there after 37 years. He was a member of Koenig Lane Christian Church where he served as Deacon and on the New Sanctuary Committee. Gordon was in the UT Longhorn band and played in the Alumni Band after. Gordon loved to travel the United States and camp out. Gordon is predeceased by his parents Henry and Lillie Turn; five brothers and four sisters. He is survived by his wife, Una Lois Jeter of 59 years and two daughters, LaJuana Kay Garner, her husband Ray Garner and Melinda Sue Gordon. Gordon had three grandchildren, Charles Garner, Justin Garner and Ashley Ryden; he also had four great grandchildren, Cayden Garner, Colton Garner, MaKenzie Ryden and Addyson Garner. Gordon was the youngest of 11 children and has one living brother, A. J. Turn. A visitation will be held from 10am-12pm on Friday, November 2 at Cook-Walden/ Capital Parks Funeral Home at 14501 N. IH-35 Pflugerville, Texas. Services will be held at 3:30pm in the Memorial Chapel of the Funeral Home. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville.
