Linda Eaves Obituary
Linda Kay (Neff) Eaves 02/15/1955-11/16/2012 Petals of a flower have blown into the wind. Yet the roots remain, continuing to grow, and the lingering fragrance of the blossom brings life to the memory forever implanted. Linda K. Eaves, age 56, of Austin Texas, left our physical world while at home, with her family by her side, after a hard fought battle with neuroendocrine cancer. She was the beloved mother of Kristin Handselburton and Zachary Eaves, and wife of Samuel Eaves of Austin. Linda was born on February 15, 1955 to Opal and C.L. Neff in Abilene, Texas and grew up in Albany, Texas. She received her formal education from the University of Texas at Austin, receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance with highest honors in 1977. She later returned to the University of Texas at Austin to obtain her teaching certification. In 1988, she was united in marriage to Samuel K. Eaves in Austin, TX. Linda passionately pursued dance from an early age, and is remembered by many for her grace and beauty. She most enjoyed spending time with her extended family (especially at the lake house), and taking weekend trips with her husband and children. Linda is survived by her husband Samuel Eaves of Austin; son Zach Eaves of Austin; daughter Kristin Handselburton (and husband Jason) of Austin; cherished grandchild Dutch Handselburton; mother Opal Neff of Albany; brother Dan Neff (and wife Lynn) of Albany; brother Tom Neff(and wife and Abby) of Cache; sister Janet Soo Hoo (and husband Bobby) of Grapevine; many loved Nieces, Nephews, and a loyal group of friends. She was preceded in death by her Father, C.L. Neff. Memorial services will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, November 28th, at Hyde Park Christian Church in Austin, TX. In lieu of Flowers, please make memorials/donations to Hospice Austin or Hyde Park Christian Church in memory of Linda Eaves.
