Dan I. Mays Dan I. Mays was born on June 22, 1933 in Round Rock, Texas to Robert Mays and Jeanette Cleveland Mays. He was one of eleven children. Dan accepted Christ at an early age under the Pastorage of Rev. Carrington, at Sweet Home Baptist Church in Round Rock, Texas. Dan was a very faithful and dedicated member of Zion Hill Baptist Church where he was ordained as a Deacon on December 5, 2010. Dan graduated from Hope Well School in Round Rock, Texas. Dan worked for Cabiness & Brown Furniture Co., worked in construction, drove for Roy's Taxi and then went on to become a business owner of dump trucks and the owner of Sam's Barbeque for over 35 years. Dan was a very loving, kind, and giving person. He served on different committees for different organizations to help the eastside community. He enjoyed helping others. He served as a member of the Cheops Lodge for several years. After retirement, he enjoyed going to church and spending time with his family. He was a devoted father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle, with a kind heart. He also had an impeccable state of fashion. Visitation will be celebrated at 12:00 noon on Friday, December 7, 2012 at King-Tears Mortuary, 1300 E. 12th Street, Austin, Texas 78702. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 8 at St. James Baptist Church, 3417 East Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, Austin, TX 78721. Services entrusted to A Life Celebration by Franklin

My prayers goes out to the entire mays Family, so sorry to hear about the passing of Big Dan, but he is now with GOD. R.I.P
