Garrieth Jubar McAfee Obituary
Garrieth (Garrie) Jubar McAfee Garrieth (Garrie) Jubar McAfee was born on March 7, 1973 to Walter and Otha McAfee in Victoria, Texas. Garrie received the Lord as his personal Savior at the age of 9 yrs old. He rededicated his life to Christ and was baptized in March of 1999. On January 22, 2013, the Lord called Garrie home. Garrie graduated from Connally High School in Waco class of 1991, where he gained the nickname "TRUCK". Garrie was awarded a football scholarship to Blinn Junior College and Eastern New Mexico State University, where he majored in Kinesiology. He met and married his beloved soul mate Regina Zavala, in 1993. They fell in love and were joined in Holy Matrimony on April 17, 1999. From this union they were blessed with two beautiful children, Isabella and Garren. Garrie was a faithful and devoted husband, who cherished his family. He was actively involved in his children extra-curricular activities. Garrie's greatest passion was football. He coached NFL Flag Football for two years. He also coached for the "Austin Game Breakers", who won the National Championship in 2006 and for the "Austin Vipers" who won The State Championship Title in 2011. Garrie also worked fulltime for the Attorney General's Office in Austin, TX. Garrie was preceded in death by his grandparents Mr. Cunnie and Gracie McAfee and Louis and Lucille Gardley. Garrie is survived by the before mentioned family a brother Walter M. McAfee, Jr. (Angel), a sister Natasha S. Rockmore (Antoine Sr.), nieces and nephews, a great Aunt Rose Mary Anderson, father-in-law John Zavala (Estela), mother-in-law Josie Zavala (Raymond), brother-in-law John Zavala (Lindsey), aunts, uncles and cousins. Garrie had a host of friends whom he loved like family. Garrie will be greatly missed by us all. Visitation will be held Friday, January 25, 2013 from 6-8 pm at Cook-Walden Chapel of the Hills Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Shoreline Church at 1:00pm with interment to follow at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery.
