Hank Ewert Obituary
Hank Ewert Our beloved Hank Ewert peacefully passed into the loving arms of our Lord on February 26, 2013. Hank was a graduate of Cal Poly, and spent 30 years working as an engineer and executive at IBM and Solectron in California, New York, Texas, and North Carolina. While he lived many places, Hank found home when he arrived in Austin in 1985. Hank is survived by his loving wife, Jan, with whom he shared 50 wonderful years of marriage. Hank and Jan were blessed with three sons: Doug (Julie) of Moraga, California; Tom (Donna) of Antioch, California; and Chris (Amy) of Austin. Family meant so much to Hank, and he truly loved his nine wonderful grandchildren: Ashley, Ryan, and Brandon of Moraga; Jessica, Jordan, Jenna, and Joshua of Antioch; and Annabelle and Vivian of Austin. Hank will also be greatly missed by his sister Joy Umstead (Jim) of Dallas, Oregon, and numerous family and friends. Hank was a man after God's heart, and was truly adored by his family. He was a selfless person, and always did everything he could for every one he met. Hank was a member and deacon at Hyde Park Baptist Church, and was devoted to his church family and friends. He touched many lives, and he will be greatly missed. A Memorial Service in honor of Hank's life will be held on Friday, March 1, at 2:00 p.m. at Hyde Park Baptist Church, 3901 Speedway, Austin, Texas 78751. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hyde Park Baptist Church for the Renew HP360 project in memory of Hank. Hank was so passionate about this effort to renew the church facilities to help raise up new Christians, and to ensure that our very best is given to the Lord. Revelation 21:4 "He shall wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away." This day is remembered and quietly kept, No words are needed, we shall never forget, For those we love don't go away, They walk beside us every day, Unseen and unheard, but always near, So loved, so missed, and so very dear.
