Daniel Nicholas Mayo Obituary
Daniel Nicholas Mayo Daniel Nicholas Mayo, 18 years of age, of Austin, Texas passed away suddenly on August 28, 2013. A May 2013 graduate of McNeil High School, Daniel was an incoming freshman at the University of Houston, where he planned on majoring in business and marketing. Born in Endwell, New York on September 26, 1994, Daniel was an accomplished student, especially proficient in English and in math. His quick wit and outgoing nature drew many people to him, his gift being a positive, lasting influence on those who knew him. Likewise, his circle of friends was a source of great joy to him. He studied piano at a young age but soon realized his true love was basketball. He was a devotee of the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Los Angeles Lakers and spent countless hours shooting baskets. When not focused on basketball, Daniel spent time with his friends mastering video games. Daniel had a knack for sizing up a situation and figuring out what to do. He was good at staking out a position and building a convincing case for his point of view, often prodding others to further contemplate their own viewpoint. His fearless approach to life always amazed his family. A parishioner of Saint William Catholic Church, Daniel is survived by his loving family: parents Rick and Maria, of Austin; brother Michael of Atlanta; grandmother Frances Mayo of Austin; devoted aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of loyal friends. Visitation will be Sunday September 1, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Beck Funeral Home, 15709 Ranch Road 620 N, Austin, Texas 78717 to be followed by a recitation of the Most Holy Rosary at 3:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 2, 2013 at Saint William Catholic Church, 620 Round Rock West Drive, Round Rock, Texas 78681. Burial to follow at Our Lady of the Rosary Cemetery, 330 Berry Lane, Georgetown, Texas 78626. In lieu of flowers, the family asks consideration of a donation in loving memory of Daniel Nicholas Mayo to Saint William Catholic Church.
