WATSON, Larry "Pops"|
Larry passed away at his Austin, Texas home on February 25, 2014 at the age of 76, after a long battle with lung cancer. Larry fought with courage, driven by his stubborn will and intense competitive nature. Never a complaint was made as he was determined to live a full life to the end, and indeed he did.
Larry Graduated from South Charleston High School in West Virginia. He would go on to play college golf at Virginia Polytechnical Institute as he pursued his Mechanical Engineering degree. He graduated in 1955 and enrolled at the University of Florida to pursue a Business Degree.
Larry is survived by his wife of 52 years and the love of his life, Nancy Watson; his son Jay, daughter-in-law Diann, and their four sons Kyle, Grant, Jack, and Hayes; his daughter Laurie Messerly, son-in-law Jack Messerly, and their two sons Blake and Brice; his daughter Alison Summers, son-in-law Christopher Summers, and their three children Michael, Carmen, and Sarah Lynne; his brother Phillip Watson, wife Cassandra Watson and children Ian and Sarah; and by his aunt Mary Watson Medley.
The Memorial Service for Larry will be March 8th, 2014 at 2pm at the Shephard of the Hills Christian Church, 6909 West Courtyard Drive, Austin, TX 78730. A visitation will follow after the service.
