Gussie Mae Israel GRAEF Obituary
GRAEF, Gussie Mae (Israel)

Gussie Mae passed away to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at the age of 94. She was born on December 4, 1919 in Round Rock, Texas and was married on May 19, 1940 to Edgar Roland Graef. They were blessed in marriage for more than 58 years. She lived in their home in Creedmoor for most of her life. Gussie was a current member of Buda United Methodist Church.

Gussie is survived by three sons, Ronnie Lee Graef of Creedmoor, Gary Edgar Graef and wife, Phyllis of Canyon Lake, Clifford Gus Graef and wife, Lisa of Buda; one daughter, Patricia Gaye Burnett and husband, Dale of Driftwood; seven grandchildren, Ken James Graef and wife Glenna, Brian Edgar Graef, Ashley Ann Graef, Clinton Gus Graef, Matthew Ray Burnett, Jacob Paul Burnett and wife Danielle, and Joshua Lee Burnett.

She is also survived by her best friend and sister, Fayrene Israel Zimmerman of Round Rock.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Roland Graef; a baby daughter in 1962; and eleven very special brothers and sisters.

Gussie was truly an amazing and faithful woman. She was strong and courageous yet gentle and loving. She worked hard all her life, earlier years at Lamme's candies then with the farm and raising her family; later in life with Graef Grocery and Hardware. She loved gardening, camping, and spending time with her family. Her favorite days included family dinners and playing dominoes. Although she said she did not like to cook, her family and friends will tell you she was the best cook ever. Many people throughout the years would just happen to show up to Gussie's at lunch time!

Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress. Funeral Service will be at 10:30 am Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Buda United Methodist Church Worship Center, 302 Elm Street, Buda, Texas with Reverend Nancy Day officiating. Interment will follow at Live Oak Cemetery with a reception following at the Church's Fellowship Hall.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Buda United Methodist Church. Memorials and guestbook online at www.wcfish.com
