On December 2, 2016 we lost a daughter, a wife and a sister. Piper Kees went to a better place at 7 PM on that date while hospitalized in Austin, Texas. She was only 48. Born September 12, 1968 in LeCompte, Louisiana, she grew up in Houston and moved to Austin as an adult. She leaves behind her husband of 14 years, Paul Macry, her brother, Skot Kees and her father, Michael R. Kees, her step mother, Susan Kees plus 2 step children (Kenneth and Britni Macry) and her 2 favorite 4 legged friends, Zig and Dot. She also leaves behind many friends and family, including her lifelong pals, Kim Katzmarek and Ellen Jester and her "second mom", Janet Lindemann. She dearly missed her mother, Carole, who was taken from us 21 years ago at the age of only 51. Piper was also godmother to her cousin, Jackson Kees of Carrollton, Texas. A 1987 graduate of Westfield High School in Houston, she attended Sam Houston State University for several years. Her work career primarily involved specialized tech support for a variety of Austin based companies. Piper loved life and had an ever widening circle of friends throughout Texas and via social media, especially in the Austin area. She was a social media queen and that will continue to be a place for people to get details and post memories of Piper and her life.

A special thanks from the family goes out to the kind staff at St. David's Hospital North in Austin for the compassion and care they provided to Piper during her final days. The family requests that any desired memorials be made to Piper's favorite cause, Texas Humane Heroes, located at 10930 East Crystal Falls Parkway in Leander, Texas 78641 (512-260-3602) in her name. She volunteered many of her hours there.

A memorial service is planned for Saturday, December 17th at 4 PM at the Parish Activity Center of St. John Vianney Catholic Church located at 3201 Sunrise Road in Round Rock, Texas followed by a reception at that same location. Nearby hotels in Round Rock include Courtyard by Marriott, Holiday Inn Express & Suites, Hometown Suites and Hampton Inn. Please bring your best memories with you.
