Homer Lee Jones, age 77, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2004. He was born April 13, 1926, in Quitman, Texas, to Ernest and Dessie Jones. He served in the US Army from 1944-1946 during WWII. On December 21, 1946, he married Patsy Ann Williams, his beloved wife. Homer was a resident of Sun City, Texas, and loved to golf. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, J.B. and Earlon Jones, and one sister, Theo Jackson. He is survived by his wife, Patsy Jones of Georgetown; three daughters, Charlotte Carter and husband Harvey of Georgetown, Cathy Johnson and husband Tony of San Angelo, and Terri Johnson and husband Don of Harker Heights; seven grandchildren, Jeff Carter of Houston, Rick Goins of Austin, Becky Goins Riojas of San Angelo, Julie Carter Crabtree of San Angelo, Kyle Kinzey of San Angelo, Justin Kinzey of Ft. Hood, and Kayla Kinzey Kuykendall of Killeen; five great-grandchildren, Monica, Tomas, Brittany, Nolan, and Bruce; two sisters, Dorothy Anderson and Linda Jarrell; and two brothers, Leonard and Everett Jones. A memorial service to celebrate Homer's life will be held in the chapel of the Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home on Monday, February 16, 2004, at 10:00 a.m., with Dr. David Edwards officiating. The family requests memorial contributions may be made to Seton Medical Center c/o Cancer Research, 1201 W. 38th Street, Austin, Texas 78705.
