MARIE EISELE
August 18, 1924 - April 8, 2014
SHERIDAN - Marie E. Eisele died on April 8, 2014. She was born on August 18, 1924 to James and Anna Marie Vincent in McMinnville, OR. She graduated from Sheridan High School. She married Anthony Eisele May 4, 1946.
Marie possessed an incredible amount of energy and poured her entire heart and soul into every project she attempted. During Marie's adulthood she held many jobs. She worked on the family farm year-round, Sheridan School District as a custodian and then a cook, Norbest in Salem, and as a homemaker.
Marie had a wide range of practical, hands-on knowledge, incredible work ethic, and strong faith. She loved to teach young people about everything she knew, from prepping a sheep for fair to sewing a prom dress. She whole-heartedly supported education and community service of all types, which included her active and long involvement in 4-H Clubs, Buell Grange and St. Michael's of Grand Ronde Catholic Church Altar Society. Her family was her number one priority. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and family, playing pinochle, quilting, and making wreaths.
Marie is survived by her husband, Anthony F. Eisele, and their children, Thomas (Susan), Albany, OR, Gerald (Rosie), Grand Ronde, OR, Anna (Rod) Aspillaga, Salem, OR, Dolores (Rich) Carmichael, La Grande, OR, and Pamela (Ken) Reid, Portland, OR. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, as well as her surviving siblings, MaryLu Dally, Bill Vincent, and Emma Jane Dorsey. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Goldie Newton, Tina Burnham, Maxine Rogers and Georgie Severns.
Visitation was held Saturday at Dallas Mortuary Tribute Center. Recitation of the Rosary will be on Monday at 7:00 PM and Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 11:00 AM, followed by a reception, all at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Grand Ronde. Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM, St. James Cemetery, McMinnville, OR. Memorial contributions are suggested, in lieu of flowers, to St. Michael's Catholic Church Altar Society, in care of Dallas Mortuary Tribute Center, who is caring for the family.
