I'm sorry to hear such heartbreaking news. I hope that pleasant memories of past good times will help ease the minds of those who mourn. My thoughts are with the Anderson family at this sad time. I know that these are wonderful people, yet I did not know them, but I do know one of their kids which tells me how great that they truly were. They must have been awesome parents.

Uncle Vern is my favorite uncle. He taught me as a young boy, how to be a man, a father, and a grandfather. I am grateful that he was such a wonderful part of my life. I know that he loved us and enjoyed us. He made life fun, and always had a positive outlook on life. My love of sports came from him, by playing catch of either a baseball, whiffle ball :), or football. Then there was pool, as he had a pool table in his garage, and boy could he "run the table". Two of my favorite memories was him taking me from Salem to Portland to watch the Portland Beavers. That was my first baseball game to watch, and we witnessed Lou Piniella, David Nelson, and Jose Vidal hit a home-run out of the park in the direction of centerfield. During one summer he came to watch me pitch, and it was a surprise to see him in the stands.
I love you Uncle Vern, and thank you for being you. I look forward to seeing you again, in heaven.
With Love

I think about the deep sorrow the family must be going through: The tragedy of a mother and father dyeing in a fire is tens times worse than a parent dyeing of an illness, or a medical condition. While there are no words to express, which would help them feel comfort, I hope they will feel comfort in knowing the love their parents gave to them, while they were growing up was such a blessing, and will forever be with the family! While I was not a part in their daily lives, and I was in and out of the picture, I feel very blessed to have known the parents of my dear friend Kim! The “A's” may not have had a lot of money, but they gave their all and everything they had to bring up their children with respect, love, caring, correct societal ethics, a well balanced social upbringing, and to afford them a good education. The “A's” were an inspiration to me, and I feel very blessed to have known them. May the Andersons rest in peace!
