Donald Marvin Silver
January 28, 1939 - February 8, 2013
WOODBURN - Don was the first born of twin boys, Donald Marvin and Ronald Maurice to Evelyn and Maurice Silver of Massena, NY. Don's twin lived only nine days.
He was raised in a farming area until the age of 17 when he joined the Navy. He served his country for twenty two years. His last nine years were spent at the Naval Reserve Center in Salem, Or.
After retiring from the Navy, Don went back to school and received an Associates Degree in Accounting. He worked in Central Payroll for the State of Oregon and retired in 2002.
He then spent the next 10 years traveling with his wife, Ruby, throughout the USA and finally settling to spend winters in Yuma, AZ.
Don was married to June Scheuffle in 1958 and had two children, Jeffrey Scott (deceased) and Tammy Dawn of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. They later divorced.
He then met Ruby Baker in 1969 and they married on January 30th, 1970. They had one child, Sarah Lynn Bevard (Bert) of Woodland, WA.
Don leaves behind his beloved wife, Ruby, his daughters, Tammy Silver, Sarah Bevard (Bert), Jenny Sheldon, Jill Baker, and his son, Monte Baker (Lena). Donald also leaves behind twelve grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren with one on the way.
He is also survived by his sisters, Gloria Bogar (Len), Sharon Ezard and Anita Raymo and a host of nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved dearly.
Services will be held at the Community of Christ Church in Woodburn, OR at 11:00 AM on February 23rd. Private burial services will be held at Willamette National Cemetary in Portland, OR.
