December 25, 1924 - April 18, 2014

DOROTHY "DOTTIE" M. COMUNTZIS, 89, a resident of Dallas died Friday, April 18, 2014 in the Dallas Retirement Village. She was born on Christmas morning, December 25, 1924, in the home built by her father, Grandfather Abel and Uncle John Abel on Birch Street in Dallas, Oregon. Her wonderful brother Glen must have known trouble was coming in the presence of one-red-haired sister. Dottie worked at a local bank, movie theatre and picked crops around town. Her mother always encouraged her to go to Camp Adair and attend the dances to help entertain the troops. There she met her future husband in "Gus" Constantine George Comuntzis. He preceded her in death on October 15, 2003.

Dottie was a vivacious person who wrote and performed for and on the radio. She wrote family histories and many novels. At one point she went to Chicago, Illinois to study forensics. She and Gus lived in Morgantown, West Virginia where they owned and operator a Gift and Candy Shop and a theatre where Gus invited many of the stars that he had come to know to perform.
