Edwin Lee O'Mohundro
January 15, 1925 - February 23, 2014
Edwin "Ed" Lee O'Mohundro died February 23rd at Salem Hospital. He was born in Tacoma, Washington to Lee Roy and Rosalie (Baker) O'Mohundro. Ed worked for Jacobson Bro's Trucking as a mechanic, plus many other occupations in many different fields before entering a career as a restaurateur. He enjoyed owning and operating the Evergreen Golf Club Restaurant in Mt. Angel as well as managing the Silverton Elks Lodge
, places where he was a well known as a fine chef.
Ed was preceded in death by Darlene his wife of 54 years on March 1, 2001. He is survived by daughters Frances (Leon) King of Salem, Erna (Rod) Irwin of Silverton and Julie (Bob) Magill of Mt. Angel. Also surviving are brothers Lewis of LaGrande, Oregon and Raymond (Nita) of Summerville, Oregon. There are 7 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 6 step-great grandchildren and 3 step-great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday February 28th from 1 to 5 P.M. at Unger Funeral Chapel, Silverton. A funeral service will be held Saturday March 1st at 11:00 A.M. at Belle Passi Mausoleum in Woodburn. A celebration of life will be held Sunday March 2nd from 1 to 4 P.M. at the Silverton Elks Lodge.
The family suggests at Ed's request that contributions be made to the Elks Eye Clinic.
