STAYTON - Elaine, 80, passed away on February 17, with loved ones by her side. She won her battle with breast cancer 15 years ago but this round was a struggle. Elaine was again diagnosed in August, 2013 and gave it a courageous battle. She was grateful to God for the years she was given to be with her loving and devoted husband, Ted, of 59 years. Elaine enjoyed watching her family grow and flourish. She was especially proud of being a great-grandmother to 10 great-grandchildren. Besides enjoying time with family, Elaine enjoyed her many dear friends and time at McDonald's for coffee and visiting. In her career days, she worked for 17 years as a medical receptionist and payroll clerk for Dr. R.E. Reid. Elaine enjoyed flowers and baking holiday treats for many. She was a devoted Catholic, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Elaine is survived by her loving husband, Ted, daughter: Patti (Alan) Keudell, sons: Ted Lee (Janet) Highberger and Todd (Kelli) Highberger; grandchildren: Amanda (Mark) Anundi, Melanie (John) Faber, Lindsey (Josh) Cantrell, Joshua (Gina) Highberger, Austin (Jenny) Highberger, Reid (Maria) Highberber, Allison Highberger and Chad Highberger; great-grandchildren: Chase and Aidan Highberger, Hunter and Brody Anundi,, Julian and Taylor Faber, Jordin and upcoming baby Cantrell, Peyton Highberger, and upcoming baby Highberger for Austin and Jenny. Preceding her in death were her immediate family, parents: Julian and Anna DeJardin, brother: Don DeJardin and sister: Maxine Bates. We will miss her devotion and love to all of us. We are comforted to know she is with God and all the loved ones who have went before us. May she rest in peace and know that her love lives on in our hearts.
