FRANK RAYMOND ROBINSON

AUMSVILLE - Frank Raymond Robinson born December 9, 1929 in Los Angeles, California passed away from a stroke on December 18, 2012. He resided in Aumsville, Oregon.
Frank grew up in Southern California where he met his wife of 43 years, Dixie, there he became a fireman
for the Los Angeles County Fire Department and started a family before they relocated to Dallas, Oregon in the mid 1950's. Frank loved Oregon and he and Dixie owned and operated an organic farm in Dallas for many years. Later they moved to Aumsville, Oregon and Frank began working in facilities maintenance at Chemeketa Community College, and also taught classes on how to build your own home there as well. Upon his retirement from Chemeketa he and Dixie took up boating and were able to spend much time traveling and enjoying the water ways of the Northwest. Taking to the road in his motor home quite often was another enjoyment in his life, loving nature and the wilderness, he drove to Alaska more than once on his various excursions. He also enjoyed working on projects in his shop where he spent many of his happiest hours. Frank was a devout member of the Church of God and his devotion to his faith was very much the center of his life.
Frank Robinson was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife, Dixie (McComb) Robinson. He is survived by his son Frank S. Robinson of Aumsville, Oregon, his son Timothy Robinson and his wife Brenda Robinson of Salem Oregon, and his daughter Karen (Robinson) Johnson and her husband Scott Johnson of Yarmouth Port, Massachusetts. Frank is also survived by eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 28, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Howell Edwards Doerksen Funeral Home in Salem.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Frank Robinson's memory may be made to the Santiam Memorial Hospital Paramedic Unit in Stayton.
