Jack Hardwick

December 28, 1925 - January 1, 2013

SALEM - Born on the banks of the Mississippi River to Jack and Nannie Bee Hardwick near Dyersburg, Tennessee. Jack came to Oregon at 16 years of age to work on an Independence farm.

Jack served in the U.S. Navy and later in the Marine Corps. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Dorothy; by sons Michael, Andrew, and Steven; daughter Belinda (Sami) and brother Jim Hardwick.

Jack owned and operated many businesses in the area, including the Mountain House (on the South Santiam River) T&J Masonry, Hardwick Realty, Basket Wholesale and Trader Jack's.

Jack was an active member of the Masonic Fraternity with two terms as Master of Salem Lodge #4 and District Deputy for the Grand Lodge of Oregon. He loved to fish and was formerly president of the Salem Aqua Club.

All who knew Jack are invited to attend the Memorial Service and Celebration of life to be held Saturday, February 2, at 2 pm at the Salem Masonic Lodge, 1625 Brush College Road, Salem. Private inurnment was at Willamette National Cemetery.

Jack's warm smile and friendly nature will be missed by many especially those he mentored.

In lieu of flowers donations to the Shriners Children's Hospital is suggested by the family.
