John Bond(1925 - 2013)

John Allen Bond

July 31, 1925 - December 15, 2013

John Allen Bond was born July 31, 1925 on a farm in the Big Bend area near Rupert, Idaho. He graduated from Rupert High School in 1943 as valedictorian of his class. He graduated from Oregon State University in 1947 with a degree in civil engineering. John worked for the Oregon Department of Transportation for 40 years, retiring in 1987. He was a registered civil engineer and licensed land surveyor.

After retirement, John enjoyed taking care of his lawn and flowers and feeding the birds and squirrels. He followed the stock market and was a member of an investment club for over 20 years. He moved to Avamere Retirement in Keizer in 2010 and resided there until his death.

John is survived by his daughter, Betsy Enos of Keizer, Oregon and sister, Bonnie Hatch of Lebanon, Oregon. He was proceeded in death by his wife, Maxine, and brother, Bob Bond.

At his request, no burial service is planned. He requested cremation, with his ashes to be scattered back on his birthplace farm in Idaho.
